Working as a Psychotherapist

Post by Anisa181 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 7:56 am

Hello, I'm currently residing and working in US as a child psychotherapist and plan on moving to Vienna in spring. Does anyone have any information on what it would take for me to open a private practice in Vienna and what is required of foreign psychotherapists in terms of licensing, insurance, etc.? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest contacting the ÖBVP - Österreichischer Bundesverband für Psychotherapie -

A few psychotherapists have advertised their services here - maybe one might be able to help you with their experiences in accreditation, getting established etc.
Vienna is like an Ikea sofa - you know you should upgrade, but why bother when it is this comfortable.
