IMC Krems: English and German Study Programmes

Post by Christopher »

Hi everyone!

As every year there are a couple of Expats from Vienna who are lecturing / studying in Krems at IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems. Having myself spent a couple of years as expat in UK/Japan, and now serving as Institute Head (International Trade and Sustainable Economy) I thought it might be good to give a brief update on options and current changes.

The university has a strong international orientation, so we are always looking for students, lecturers and (new) coaches for final works. Talking about programme conducted in English, we run 13 programmes in the fields of Business/International Relations, Digitalisation and Life Sciences. The ratio of non-native German/Austrians in the programmes is about 40-50%. For German speakers, we also offer 18 programmes in German.

As a University of Applied Sciences, we always looking for lecturers with international experience. Both as guest speakers as well as regular lecturers: (check our website for job offers, sadly can link only one URL in a post)

We are also looking for coaches for final works (Bachelor / Master Theses) – thanks to a change of regulation working external coaches is possible as of fall term 2021. So if you are interested in coaching or want to sponsor topics, please do get in touch.

For students, we offer some of the programmes in part-time format – usually meaning Friday afternoon and Saturday. And we try recognizing previously collected credits (given that studies were done at an accredited university (H+) and that courses match, hence entering in higher semesters might be possible. About 1/3 of our students commute from Vienna (1/2 in the part time programmes).

Here is a link to the study programmes: Study Programmes conducted in English

Study fees: regular Austrian study fee (approx. €400/term) for EU/EEA + Swiss citizens + “Personengruppenverordnung“ otherwise – unfortunately this now includes UK citizens -approx.. €4000-5000/term.

IMC is a good place to meet and study. Both lecturers and students are usually pretty happy.

Following the pandemic on-line mode, we plan to continue this fall with some 70-80% presence classes, 20-30% online sessions.

In case you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks for your time and enjoy the summer!

Thanks for that - colleagues lecture there!
Vienna is like an Ikea sofa - you know you should upgrade, but why bother when it is this comfortable.
