Life of Pi

Post by Tatt » Tue Jan 15, 2013 4:29 pm

I saw Life of Pi on the weekend (the missus was out of town, so I could just go to pictures during the day!) and thought it was very good.

A few years back I read the book and really enjoyed it, and it's commendable that they included almost all aspects of the story (some were quite rushed, however) and still managed to give the full impression of feeling with each minor triumph of survival Pi goes through.

I am not a big fan of 3D generally (but it was a great part of the story for Avatar), however Life of Pi uses it to good effect.

Finally I would add that the cinema was packed with kids, and they gasped and laughed and enjoyed it as well. Nice movie for everyone.

Just saw it yesterday and feel pretty much the same - great adaptation of a great book. I didn't see it in 3D but don't feel like I missed out.
